Concrete Basin Making - 2 day workshop
A hands-on two-day workshop where you’ll mould, cast and finish your own architectural concrete basin from start to finish. Learn practical skills including mould preparation, concrete mixing and pouring, demoulding, sanding, finishing and sealing.
With no previous experience required, you’ll be guided through every stage in our workshop, with all tools and materials provided. At the end of the course, you’ll leave with new practical skills, hands-on experience and your own finished concrete basin to take home.
Day 1 - Mould and Pour
Learn the basics of concrete basin design and construction
Build/assemble their basin mould
Learn about reinforcement and basin waste positioning
Mix and pigment concrete
Pour and vibrate the basin
Learn how to avoid air pockets and common casting problems
Leave the basin to cure

Demould their own basin
Learn safe demoulding techniques
Sand and refine edges
Fill pinholes/imperfections
Learn about polishing and finishing
Apply the appropriate sealer
Learn basic installation and waste considerations
Take home their finished concrete basin
