About the Course Our Premium Architectural Planter Course is delivered over four engaging evenings (or four daytime sessions), giving participants the opportunity to learn specialist concrete moulding, casting and finishing techniques while creating their own contemporary architectural planter. Designed for complete beginners, this hands-on course guides participants through every stage of the process, from design and mould preparation to concrete casting, finishing and sealing. Along the way, you'll gain practical workshop skills, learn how professional architectural concrete products are made, and develop the confidence to work with a range of materials and tools. By the end of the course, you'll have created a beautiful, durable planter to take home, along with the knowledge and skills to continue exploring decorative concrete projects in the future. Whether you're interested in gardening, design, DIY, construction or simply learning something new, this course offers a rewarding and creative experience in a friendly workshop environment.
What our course participants said:
"I signed up to learn something new and came away with a fantastic planter that I'm genuinely proud of. The course was hands-on, well organised and suitable for complete beginners. Pat, our instructor, was incredibly helpful, and it was great to see the planter take shape over the four sessions. I'd highly recommend it to anyone interested in gardening, design or practical skills.” - Sue , 48, Clonmel
""What I enjoyed most about the course was learning skills I can actually use again. The process was broken down step by step, and by the end I felt confident enough to make another planter at home on my own. I'm delighted with the one I made during the course, and I've already started planning my next project!" — Mary, 69, Clonmel
""I honestly didn't expect to get so much out of this course. Not only did I go home with a stunning planter that would cost far more than the course fee to buy, but I also learned the skills to make more myself. The instructors made everything easy to understand, even for a complete beginner, and by the end I felt confident enough to try similar projects at home. Brilliant value and a really enjoyable few evenings."” - Majella, 55, Carrick-on-Suir
"
"I signed up because I loved the look of the planters, but I came away with much more than that. The course gave me the confidence to work with concrete, create moulds and understand the entire process. I never thought I'd be able to make something like this myself, and now I'm looking forward to trying it again at home." - Paul, 47, Fermoy
"I never imagined I'd be able to create something that looked so professional. The course was relaxed, enjoyable and easy to follow, even with no previous experience. Seeing the finished planter at the end was incredibly rewarding, and it now takes pride of place in my garden” - Dave, 47, Mallow
"The four evenings flew by. The workshop was welcoming, Pat’s instruction was excellent and I learned far more than I expected. It was great to work with new materials and leave with a beautiful planter that I made myself." - Barry , 50, Dungarvan
"The planter I took home is now the centrepiece of my patio and everyone asks where I bought it. They're always surprised when I tell them I made it myself! The course was relaxed, hands-on and great fun. The value was incredible when you consider both the planter itself and all the skills you learn along the way." - Noreen , 40, Mullinahone
"For me, the best part was leaving with something I'd made with my own hands. The planter alone is worth more than the course fee, but learning the moulding, casting and finishing techniques was the real bonus. I've already started gathering materials to make another one at home." - Brian, 60, Portlaw
""As a recent design graduate, I was really interested in learning how architectural concrete products are actually made. The course gave me a great understanding of the process from design and mould making right through to casting and finishing. It was refreshing to step away from the computer and create something physical. The planter I brought home looks amazing, and the practical skills I learned will definitely influence my future design projects."- Emma, 28, Mitchelstown
“Whether you're a keen gardener, design enthusiast, DIYer, college graduate, retiree or simply someone looking to learn a new skill, our Architectural Planter Course offers a unique hands-on experience. No previous experience is required—just a willingness to learn, create and leave with something you're genuinely proud of.”
