Intro to Machining and Fabrication

Students will be introduced to the exciting world of CNC design and manufacturing through practical, hands-on projects. Using VCarve software, students will learn how to draw and design a piece of furniture, starting with basic shapes and progressing to more detailed layouts and toolpaths. They will gain an understanding of how digital drawings are transformed into real products using a CNC router, including cutting, carving, shaping and finishing techniques. This module combines creativity, technology and practical workshop skills, giving students a real insight into modern manufacturing and design processes used across construction, joinery and product development industries.
