Health and Safety Awareness

Health and safety awareness is a key part of all practical workshop and construction training at Build Skills Ireland. This module introduces students to the importance of safe working practices, hazard awareness and personal responsibility within workshop and construction environments. Students will learn how to identify risks, use tools and equipment safely, wear appropriate PPE and maintain clean and organised work areas.

The programme also covers manual handling awareness, emergency procedures, safe behaviour around machinery and the importance of communication and teamwork in maintaining a safe workplace. Through practical demonstrations and real workshop scenarios, students develop a strong understanding of health and safety standards used across construction, manufacturing and trade industries. This module helps build confidence, responsibility and safe working habits that are essential for any future career in practical skills or construction environments.
